The bike looks mint, but ZERO feedback and it's too far away for me to go take a look.. damn it. Common sense tells me not to touch it, but the seller has been a member since 2012, which probably means the guy set up an eBay account ages ago and just never used it, which isn't what I'd expect from scammers who use multiple accounts.

Risky, risky, risky, and... I've already bought it. But I've now got a message "your payment is still processing" which means the seller's email address for his Paypal account is either wrong or expired.

I am an idiot? Well obviously, yes, but what vibe do you get from the ad?

Yes, I know.. Embarassed
But, my genius brain did do something useful after I sent payment, I Googled his email address (only available after payment is sent.. not very helpful) and the seller appears to be a Chinese student in Cardiff.

TBH I don't know how much protection I'd get from eBay and Paypal.
I once had an item delivered that was left outside the front door. Nobody had signed for it so just to see what would happen, I contacted eBay and told them the item was stolen/missing - it was only a low value item so this was purely for the sake of testing out their promise of buyer safety.

They told me that the item HAD been delivered, and that was the end of it. The fact that nobody was home, no one had signed for it, and the parcel had been left where anyone could have taken it didn't matter: refund denied.

It looks like the seller of the bike is genuine because he advertised on a student website, but does anyone here speak Chinese?

Yeah that had me scratching my head, but there is a second picture that shows - if you click to full size - what I presume is a pump, in what looks like a knife holster.

Damn. Sad
Well, the bike was genuine enough, but the guy had already sold it and forgot about the eBay auction. PITA.
