Short version - A bike has been stolen with the car parking company being a bit dodgy...

Would love for BCF to get behind him and out this company on FB and get the pressure on - Q-Park GB

Said bike:

https://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q704/joshsilverman/10872721_10155237406110327_3833634913346798581_o_zps7b96ad27.jpg

Facts -

The cameras in the Area are not working.

They removed my posters appealing for witnesses - Refused to let me put up posters offering a reward for information. Saying I had to speak to HQ, who I have left messages for.

They Removed poster from MY second bike asking for the bike NOT TO BE TOUCHED as it was moved during a crime scene and was going to be fingerprinted.

THEY THEN MOVED THE BIKE!!!!!!! This has meant the Police can no longer fingerprint the bike! - you tampered with Evidence!!!!!!

They have CCTV of the van entering but refuse to give me any details to pass onto the police. And the police are busy and so take 2-5 days to collect it. (this is understandable to a point - but it would have been good to be more helpful)

You have a night watchman/woman who has not come forward from that evening?

The full story from the guy who had it stolen:

Yeah I would think so too...

The whole thing just seems very convenient from the company! just not doing their job to protect it as its meant to be a gated, manned car park....

Q park can die as far as I'm concerned.

They run a local hospital car park. I dropped off my sick grandmother once to A&E, where the sign clearly said "free for 10 mins" - I was 7 mins and the machine refused to budge for my ticket, telling me to call and wait for assistance. Which came, predictably after 3 mins.

They charged me a pound for 10 mins parking. I paid the pound then paid another pound a few mins later as I passed their hidey hole. Unfortunately for them the second pound was slightly wide of the payment slot and found it's way into their plate glass window.

was the almax chain locked to an immovable object because if not then chain does noting but act as tool to help lift the bike in van instead of a scaffold pole.

did the bike have a decent tracker on it?

if i spent £10k plus on a bike i would definitely spend the £300 odd on a tracker from tracker.co.uk

hope the thief's suffer from necrosis fasciitis which begins on their cock first

What tracker, a decent one should have alerted at movement. If its a cheapy, insulated transporter or similar.

Failing that, they don't care if it works, they got it for free, any £££ is a bonus so just hack out the loom and BLAM.

I don't do Facetweeting, but I will note that Q-Park use the following in their marketing:

"safe and secure facilities"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3g9ir0zSpw#t=34

"safety is paramount to Q-Park's ethos and extensive security features such as CCTV systems are built into [our] facilities"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3g9ir0zSpw#t=87

Doubtless more if you want to keep searching.

Blurb. If it's "proved" then they have no choice in "accept[ing] liability", or the extent of it.

They market their services as secure, and they have failed in the very areas which they use to promote themselves. At the very least I'd be invoicing them for the excess, and consequent costs including increased premium.

Nothing changes until it costs more to do it wrong than to do it right.

Just my 2 cents and I know people's situations are different but I wouldn't even own a bike of that value and exotic-ness unless I knew I could keep it in a locked secure garage at home.

The China Town Q park bike bay is about 6 stories below ground level, assuming the bike went into some sort of insulated van the tracker on the bike probably doesn't even know it's left the car park.

As it goes, having used that car park it seemed pretty safe to me for a free service. If memory serves there are railings all the way along the bike area to chain up to, and camera's monitoring large proportions if not the whole facility. It's probably one of the safest public places to park in London.

I edited my post on their BookFace page.

You need to address this before you get a bad name. Bike Chat Forums is Britain's largest motorbike forum. https://goo.gl/N2IHtp

Time is a factor when tracing the location of a stolen vehicle, more-so when it is a motorbike.

As the amount of time increases, the chance of recovery decreases.

Victim:- "They (Q-Park GB) have CCTV of the van entering but refuse to give me any details to pass onto the police."

I would have thought that you would do anything you can to help trace a motorbike that was stolen from one of your "safe and secure facilities".

I would also like to draw your attention to :-
"safety is paramount to Q-Park's ethos and extensive security features such as CCTV systems are built into [our] facilities"

It beggars belief that Q Park are pulling this crap with the amount they charge in their paid places. In Glasgow for a 6-day ticket they want £2,265.55 per quarter - £29.36 a day! They must be rolling in it, yet stil want to shaft this guy with their bullshit. It amazes me that in this day and age companies don't think "Twitter/Facebook/social thing would have a field day with this".

The biggest problem with the Almax is the Squire SS65 lock it comes with. The locking link can be cropped quite easily and is apparently very easy to cut through with any tool.

Not that it matters as they'll just have lifted it away and then gone non-medieval on its hasp later, but SS65C picked in 40 seconds.

They'll have expected it to have a tracker on it. A tracker / alarm with a motion sensor which send you a text or something like that won't tell you anything which the CCTV doesn't already have covered.

I would bet your house that it's never going to be seen again.
