Hello there just went to use my zx6r g2 whats been sat for few months put 5 pound petrol in jerry can as i drained tank before i gariged it .
Put petrol in she fired up loads battry let her walm up bout 15 mins why put bike gear on pulled away fine as soon as i get 4 meters up road it bogs and cuts out.

She starts again easy and revs fine just when i pull away it cuts out wont move at all needed to push back home . Could my carbs be blocked . I changed the spark plugs , coolent and oil the day it got stored so new plugs . Thanks

There is a 99% chance I'm completely wrong here but this sounds exactly like what happens when I'm an idiot.

I've got a slightly leaky float on my carb so when I leave the bike I switch the petcock to off.

If I forget I did this I can start the bike, it will rev and pull away for a few metres before cutting out. I can then restart and repeat until I remember to turn the tap to on.

Might have pulled some crap through to the jets. I always thought for short storage like that you were meant to drain the carbs and brim the tank.

I had the tank off to look at carbs bit to much work for me to get to jets i think . I blowed some air in the fuel lines and brown rusty water or petrol came out ..

so cleard that with air and reconeted tank and she started strait away but still cuts out . It lets me pull away but as im just settin of at low speed bogs and cuts off . .

I have an F1 the carbs block real easy if the bikes left without draining the float bowls, had to remove and clean them out just last week actually, it's not a bad job when you done it a few times, I usually find i get one pilot blocked so it runs on 3 pots until 3000 rpm.
