First Ride this year!

Hi guys.

Just come back on from my first ride this year after cleaning and lubing chain yesterday!!

I've been putting of going out because of my thyroid issue and the amount of weight I've put on from it over the winter but my god I enjoyed it. I thought I would be to big (fat).

Couple of things to add:

I've only had my license around a year and I ride a FZS 600, I noticed today I felt way more confident while riding. Felt like I was leaning over alot more in the corners than I normally would but I'm not sure why. Shocked

The other thing is I'm having to wear a pair of jeans because of my weight Sad

I bought I pair of motorbike trousers but they the correct waist size but knee protection was more like shin protection. Any ideas on trouser front don't want to spend alot because weight will come off.

So because your knee protection isn't in the right place so you wore jeans? Seriously man wear the gear, even if the armour is in the wrong place it's better than jeans. Or just take it out if it's interfering with your movement.

I not that they're the only thing in the wrong place. They're stupidly long. They drown me and I can't really walk around with them on haha.

If they're stopping you moving about then I get why you'd rather not wear them. Go and buy some cheap cube or tuzo textiles mine were about £30 I think and chuck those on. Beats fucking your legs up if you bin it Thumbs Up

trousers are usually available in different leg lengths

motorcycle trousers with armour removed still better than denim

talk to Hood (kevlar jeans) or Scott (leathers) if you need something unusually proportioned.

Yes, I'd far rather scrape my bare knee to the bone on tarmac than get a boo-boo from having a layer of textile move around a bit. The ignominy!

Anyway, season will be over soon, problem solved.

I'd make any decisions based on "am I going to get knocked off?" rather than "at least I won't get road rash" full race leathers wouldn't make me any more confident than shorts, I'm more than confident in my riding ability however I don't trust any other cunt on the road.
