The relief I feel, just wonderful! Very Happy

I'm really excited about the whole new world of possibilities. Why I didn't do this before I don't know (34, car driver for 17 years)

I don't want anything riproaring tbh, certainly not until I've got proper experience under me. My instructors Yamaha Fazer was confidence inspiring and the general consensus seems they're a good safe bet as first proper bike

Fireblade's a bit underpowered these days, ok for the odd commute I suppose, winter hack or as a stepping stone to a proper bike. I know that Fireblade is the general bike of choice for a newly qualified rider, but personally I would go for the Panigale as it has power modes so obviously safer and a better choice.

Then once you have gotten used to these beginner bikes you can go shopping for a Harley.

Serious congratulations mate.

We recognise how much time and effort it takes to gain your license. It's part of what it means to be a biker. Respect the effort you've invested in it and use that knowledge to ride smart and to ride safe.

People misjudge bikers thinking we're all hooligans who want to get ourselves killed. In my eyes bikers are trained to a much higher standard than car drivers and are required to complete a much more comprehensive testing procedure.

Remember the effort you've put in to earning that license, be proud of it but most of all use your training to keep yourself safe and keep yourself riding.[/img]

Thanks everyone! I just love being outdoors, and having a bike licence gives me a bit more freedom over a car. I don't have any desire to go fast, just get out there and feel the wind in my helmet

Right time of year for it as well!

I passed last November and had to wait a few months before I could ride in nice weather.

Congrats!

I remember the same furore about the Raleigh Grifter, it was about the same size as the street triple as well Smile

Street triple seems sensible when I get over small penis/large sports bike noob syndrome. That's a long way off yet though Smile

Aye but the Grifter weighed about three times as much as a striple. Because it was made of cast fucking iron. And painted with shame. Oh I hated that lump of turd.
