do the plugs get wet when you try starting her?

i would start by checking the fuel system. no clogged filters or lines?

clean the carbs and check for any clogged jets.

Try using another battery, the VFR 400 is really fussy when it comes to batteries and starting voltages, really fussy. As already mentioned check for stale fuel, drain and clean carbs/jets etc.

That looks nice, where are you based if you are near Bracknell I can try to help you.

Change the spark plugs. Does not matter they have spark you need to change them anyway.

How much time was left without running? You need to clean very well the fuel system including carbs and jets. If it was really long time and the tank was left not full, it may have rusted. That means serious tank cleaning before you try to run it.

You can test that it starts by spraying for 1 second a little starting fluid in the air filter

If it starts and than stops that will mean most probably the jets need cleaning.

The first thing I would do after test start is to change the oil and coolant too. If it was left long time I would clean the coolant system too before I change the coolant with new.
