Stick a hayabusa engine in it, should get you to 50ish.

How old are you? Can't you just buy the 125cc version?

If you are 16:

Buy a big bore kit.

Take it to a race tuner get the ports done.

Race reeds.

Race exhaust.

Upjet the carb.

Free flowing air filter.

Bigger sprockets.

If you are 17 or over then buy a 125 which will be much faster.

If you're going to ride illegally at 16 on a modded 50cc, then why not ride illegally at 16 on a standard 125cc?

I defiantly did not expect to read that in my lifetime, if that's the case, mopeds really IMO have no place even on city roads Shocked

They did do 50mph, maybe 52-53 even when tested by the magazines back in the day, Circa 96>?

The engine was 9bhp without the restrictions. I would definitely de-restrict for safety and making reasonable progress in urban area's, but not tune it much further with aftermarket performance parts, as it's pretty powerful as std for 50cc, and I think reliability/longetivity would suffer.

Fair shout although most 16 year olds couldn't give a f**k about reliability lol !!

No seriously reliability is a real issue with tuning and keeping in standard trim will give it the best chance of survival. Sometimes the small power gain from tuning isnt worth the reduction in reliability.

You don't get more power for nothing , there's always a trade off whether it is fuel consumption, reduced service intervals or noise. Usually all three. Whether it is worth it depends on what the bike is being used for.

A mate derestricted his 2002 Senda and fitted an aftermarket spanny off a gpr50, went underneath, less curves = smoother gas flow, and I believe it was a 68cc by the time it was sold. Another mate built a 110cc GPR which was stupid quick, faster than an NSR 125 but took a new piston every 2,000 miles or less. That was a short-lived toy, soon got sold onto a 16 year old muppet who probably knows nothing about anything and is currently complaining about reliability somewhere.

The Senda was good fun, in a moped way, you could get it to power wheelie in second, sat on the pillion seat and given a bounce, no clutch, it did between 45-50 top end and a larger sprocket on the front could get her up to a touch under 60 but it was harder to ride and keep on the power. In fact I didn't want to give it back, which is odd seeing as the mates I was riding with didn't seem to want to give my CRM back and get back on their mopeds I was hooning around on either. Twisted Evil

Now I'm twenty I can say this but at sixteen, I would have removed a testicle to have the fastest moped/bike registered as a moped. Just enjoy it for what it is, unless you feel you know exactly what you are doing and you want to do it for a bit of fun, like the 110cc GPR my mate built.
