New wheels, defective?

The joint of the extruded tube ends on both wheels is poor. Looking at the braking surface I can see points of light shining through at the groove of wear indicator. This makes me think the wear indicator was cut too deep or not welded properly.. and could fall apart any time..

Minor issue the braking surface is rough looks like they "CNC" cut it with a large rock, and in several places it has not cut, showing the original paint, and indicating the wheel was not true, but is probably close enough now.

Other than that they seem decent. Bearings are very smooth.

Perhaps. I dont like returning things so decided to try them. I did 8 miles yesterday to test it.

Front brake surface is significantly uneven, very tempted to return but I can probably live with it or get discs, which I intended anyway.

Anyone recommend hydraulic callipers to get? preferably quite cheap. Size of discs I think my forks will only fit 160's.
