The gpz500 is great for commuting. I'm really enjoying it but after the last few months riding I'm looking for something faster..Not for commuting, for the odd sunny day
Stuff in budget that jumps out are zzr600, thundercat and the gsxr 600 srad
Which would you choose?
Thundercat second gear issues make me nervous and the zzr seems like a great commuter but I have one of those.. so it's looking like the gixer is the one to go for. I want a zx6r/636 but they seem to hold their value a bit better..
I have 1500 to spend now but rather spend less.
Street triple is too expensive |

I'd fancy a ZX7R that budget, they might not be the best performing 750, but, so pretty
To me they're everything a 90s sports bike should be. ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

G or J model ZX6r also falls in budget and is a good alternative. ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600

^this 100%. But I would never try to single out one make and model of comparable similar bike, or even suggest that one 600 is brilliant next to it's peers, as none of them shine like a star 100times brighter than those around them.
I think you'd get a totally mint G-series 600 Ninja for 1.5K, but you'd get one of the best F-series models as well, which are still a very capable bike and fast too! I also would not let possible gearbox issue's with the YZF600 put you off them I think they are great bikes and better all rounders than the older ZZR's too IMO.
There's negatives with every bike, and if you only listened to horror stories, you'd never buy an early R6, GSXR SRAD, TT600, YZF600 and many more. Buy any £1500 bike on condition and how well looked after and solid it is, not scare stories of a particular model's inherent mechanical doom! |

zx6r found a few well within budget and one locally which im trying to arrange a viewing of.
Won't be ridden that much this winter as the gpz will take the brunt of it.. i want to buy one now as prices are dropping, ready for next year
insurance can suck my balls. 100cc more (yes its a more desirable bike etc etc) and they want 4 times as much as i pay on the gpz. £100 a month |
