...what would they have bought? Would they even have a bike? They're such a bunch of cockwombling image-obsessed morons I suppose they would have bought whatever's ridden by some other wobbling publicity whore, e.g. that sad pikey Beckham. I'd rather they had a fake retro Triumph scrambler instead of a 12 foot wide set of panniers - at least they'd cause fewer traffic jams and create some jobs in the UK.

They used to buy a 916, presumably because it was in pop videos and The Matrix. It was hilarious watching them trying to commute. The crash repairs were great business for the dealers.

What about those people who buy bikes that they see being raced on the track or in movies or local plod ride or Che rode or Lampkin rode/rides ?

Am I super cool because I ride a bike that everyone called a pig and said was ugly?

Let people ride what they like, wear what they like, except Hardleys as we all know that they are ridden by gay men wearing chaps and never ridden by normal people......................... (Hellkat isn't normal either Laughing but different to the other hardley riders )

Recman, a Euan Mcgregor wannabe is someone who wants to be Euan Mcgregor. I'm merely commenting on how he made the GS fashionable. And how people are influenced by marketing rather than an honest assessment of the bikes which meet their needs. I find it absurd that people want a trans-Sahara spec GS or a Triumph Scrambler to commute on because of something they saw in the Sunday Times magazine. I don't really care what they ride, the fact that they buy any bike is good for all of us because it boosts the trade, but I reserve the right to be scornful because they're so shallow, so easily led. No doubt they'd all be struggling with a giant KTM if McGregor had been sponsored by KTM, who were his first choice.

https://vimeo.com/album/1610968 "Ewan and Thingy" episodes 1 to 9 pretty much summarises how I view the "adventure".

An informed choice is based on test rides and reviews. A daft, shallow, muppet's choice is based on celeb endorsement.

I didn't get a Z1000 because it ''met my needs''. I got it because I wanted it. I'm not going to let someone else tell me how to decide what bike to get.

The BMW had a really good review if you watch the series. Warts and all, cracked frame, heavy bike, good at carrying stuff, good at most things thrown at it. But look at all the range rover drives, or the Fiesta drivers, both have been bought for a reason, but don't always fit what the owner needs the vehicle for.
