Hi guys.

Dont know if anyone remembers but I did a deal with Askew about a month and a half ago concerning some UFO head lights.

Heres the thread anyway:

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=37122]

Paid already....cheque cleared on christmas Eve

Well after several pm's, several emails and even a letter to his parents (which I had no reply from any). I still have had no sign of this deal being finished from these.

Anyone know askew? So that could ask him wtfs going on...

I spoke to him on msn since all the PMs/e-mails/letter were sent, and he made some sorry excuse (told me that the lights have definitely been sent off this time) and never spoken again since.

To this day I am £25 down and there is another "crook" out there!!

What can I do? I have his address, E-mail, Msn (seems to have stopped using that now), and I can PM him, but he doesn't post here anymore Rolling Eyes ...

Help please

Wait for Jon to try and get hold of him.

There may be a very geniune reason why he's not been able to send you the goods, especially if his parents haven't responded to your letter.
I hope that he is ok, and that you get your bits with a genuine explaination. Thumbs Up

Police won't be interested, small claims court would cost more than it's worth, solicitor would cost WAY more than it's worth... theres NOTHING that you should do other than try and get hold of him yourself, unless you want to waste a LOT more of your time and money...

it's only £25.. police would just laugh you off..

Askew seemed alright when he was here and hasn't posted for ages, there may be a very good explanation, family crisis, had an accident or something? as he hasn't posted on the forum for ages either.

Who knows, but solictors/police is a bad idea as it will cost you LOT more than it's worth.

We're getting the money back somehow.

This guy's taking us for a ride. If there was something wrong - family problems maybe, he could have said when my Bro spoke to him last on MSN.

Are you sure the police won't do anything? If you just speak to the local police, surely can't they give him a phone call, or pop round? Nothing expensive, but it may get him off his ass and sort it out.

Funny how he stopped posting/pming etc, when my Bro's cheque cleared... Rolling Eyes

Thing is, if Rift spends money on small claims court Askew also has to pay that.

I'd send a nicely worded letter to him via recorded delivery so you know its arrived explaining the case in full and that you havn't received anything yet and you'd like your headlight or a refund in full within 14 days otherwise you'll be involving small claims court who'll involve baliffs if necessary.

Have you tried phoning him?

Only if he wins the case!

There is something that we do to clients of ours who refuse to pay, I will PM you the details rather than post on here, as Askew may be watching. If he's also taken money from Clauds bro (how much??) then it sounds like maybe something dodgy is going on...

edit ignore the brother bit, just realised Rift IS clauds brother Laughing

The point is: before the money was sent he was as good as gold. Everything going as it should: perfect seller...

Then when the cheque clears. We get no response when we ask him why after 2 weeks nothing has arrived.

We get no responses from E-mails / (BCF) Pms. He stopped using BCF the day the cheque cleared.

Then, my Bro finally manages to get his MSN, and gets to speak to him in person. There he makes up a crap excuse about why the lights aren't here.

Since then he hasn't been on MSN.

Then we send a nice formal letter to his house! Nothing.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, but I can put 2 and 2 together.

If there is a genuine mistake I will eat my hat, and anybody else's, but I can't see that happening. Rolling Eyes And I’m getting very annoyed.

It's not just the £25, it's the principle, and if I have to ride 5 hours+ to get my Bro's money back I bloody well will. Evil or Very Mad

Do you know how old he is?

Only thing which is a bit Confused is its a £25 cheque, if I was going to scam someone then I wouldn't be bothering with amounts like £25 and you can scam/rip off people off for larger amounts just as easily. Does make me think that there might be another explanation for it all. Either that or he's fucking stupid as well, if you're going to put effort and time into ripping someone off you might as well do it for at least ten times the amount he's got from Rift.

Confused
