If you're wanting to know what trials bikes are good then you'd be better off finding a trials bikes forum as don't think there is anyone active on here into trials riding.

Or are you saying you're looking for a first (road) bike and like the looks of trials type off road bikes?

I think that's what he means, if it isn't, you'd be right, there doesn't seem to be many people here who actually offroad their trials.
Yamaha DT125s seem to be the most respected. They've been about for decades, still in production, and are extremely reliable. The 10 year old ones often still fetch a grand.

A common but likeable bike is the Aprilia RX50 (i believe they do a 125 aswell?), which are OK, but nothing special from what I've heard.

Derbi Senda's are very respectable.

Kawasaki have a good rep when it comes to trials.

A good tip is to go to ebay, go to motorbikes, select enduro bikes, and any other options you want fullfilled, and see what you like. Then come back here and ask away! Thumbs Up

Note that a trials bike is one that is made to go up things, while a trail bike can describe many kinds of bike, including road based ones that can be used off road.

Learn something new every day, eh?

Are you after a 125, or something bigger? Keeping in mind you'd be restrcited to 33bhp for 2 years, even if it was a bigger bike (that's if you rode it legally.)

Can't say better than a Yamaha DT125 to be honest then, I've yet to find a person who doesn't adore it.
They retain their value well, so even if you end up paying a bit more than you'd have liked to, you can sleep easy knowing it won't drop like a stone when you come to selling it.
Reasonable insurance (i got quoted £295 TPO, 17, no NCB, without shopping around) It'll be less for you, but depending on your sit you might want TPFT.
Just my opinion, but I suggest you consider a DT, they seem to be in a league of their own.
