moving house, broadband deals??

ok I'm hopefully moving house next weekend so will need new broadband and phone line, I do download the odd movie and most of my music from pirate bay so need one that doesn't block everything if possible (my mates sky broadband is a bit picky about what it lets me do)
Soo what deals are about guys? my mobile is EE and I previously had the broadband with it but don't think the deals still run any more?
Also, old stone walled cottage so I don't want cables everywhere so was thinking of a smart tv and wireless speaker with a firestick etc.
I'm on quidco so cashback deals are ok etc..

Are you looking for ADSL or Infinity?

BT are doing unlimited broadband for £5 a month (12month contract) and £17.99 line rental (standard), or Unlimited Infinity for £10 a month.

It doesn't matter which provider you're with, you can always get around the blocks that they put on websites (I've just got BT after being with Virgin for 2 years, and got PB/KAT on both)

Since moving onto a narrowboat, I have been using a MiFi device. Just runs on 4G and uses a sim card. If you don't mind a 20gb download limit per month then you can get very good speeds for £20 a month all in. No line rental. I was paying ~£50 a month for BT unlimited fibre with some evening and weekend calls and getting very variable speeds. I now get 50mb down, 20mb up consistently. The only downside is the 20gb limit but I am thinking of just getting 2 for £40 a month. Still cheaper than BT.

I'm currently with Virgin and paying £38 per month for line rental and 70mb broadband, as for the ISP blocking sites, the longest that's stopped me for is probably about an hour if I'm looking for something

For instance where I am, we can have BT, Sky or TalkTalk. That's it.
TalkTalk win for us because they're fairly cheap, no DL limits either.

It would make sense to ask a neighbour what speeds they get, no use paying for high speeds when they aren't available.
They will still try to sell you something as expensive as possible and add on TV that you won't be able to stream properly.

The checker things are only a guide - it says similar for here and I get 5mb on a good day but house 100 yards away only manage 2mb.
This is normal as soon as you get a mile from the exchange even if it has been enabled for high speeds.
You will be lucky to get more than 4mb no matter what they claim about 95% coverage.
