I know winglets are all the rage even suzuki have got them now abeit small ones, wouldn't it be better to have the winglets on the front mudguard, less loading on the suspension and the down force if any will be direct to the front tyre, or maybe I'm just talking shite Smile

From the little I've gleaned it appears they were optimised in wind tunnels so I suspect they tried them everywhere within the FIM rules.

Stupid waste of time and money when the sport has been reducing spending, besides there isn't a shared consensus amongst the riders that they improve, and if they do improve things then it's not the same on every type of circuit or indeed if it's windy.

Like carbon discs we won't see them on roadbikes unlike some of the other MotoGP technology that does transfer to roadbikes.

Wings, pfffft, that boat has sailed. MotoGP is many years behind because Kawasaki put them on the ZX12 16 years ago.

Mine don't look completely ridiculous and actually stop me from entering orbit, honest.

Johnny-come-latelys. Honda had them on the ST1100 10 years before that back in 1990!

Wing? That was a crash bung for when it inevitably fell over under it's own weight.

It would be better to fully enclose the front wheel within the fairing. Downforce be damned, it's a big thing to push through the air that completely screws with the aerodynamics.

But you're not allowed to in racing.

Those are mere stubs.

These will not be on road bikes

I could see a use for them on road bikes, but more for the touring bike, if you can deflect the wind away from the rider it will help on long journeys.
