Asking as an afterthought really.. Test rode a 2000 TT at the weekend, 21k on the clock. Noticed some juddering in low revs, only fixed by switching up or giving it some throttle. Also idling slightly high until fully warmed up, at about 2.5.. Are these signs of anything or a characteristic of these models?

Nope that's just how they are I'm afraid.

Have a look at tune ECU

https://www.tuneecu.com/

It's free you just need to buy a £5 cable you can then alter the fueling, I have a Speed Four which has the same (barring cams) engine, I managed to mostly tune mine out. Having an open can makes it worse. Put a baffle in it if you have one.

I read elsewhere that was how they were, thats why I asked if it was a characteristic. Cant say it bothered me massively, but then it was only a quick blat. Just wanted to make sure it wernt a problem.

My experience is with the Speed Four which is reportedly not as bad. IF it is a 'Toy' bike i.e. you take it out for a blast I wouldn't worry, you aren't gonna spend much time below 4k revs anyway. If it is a daily bike, look for something else or try to sort it. Tinker with tune ECU or take it to somewhere with a rolling road to do it properly.

Didnt bother me on a 10min test ride, but I reckon that would do my nut in on a daily commute..! If you only just managed to tune yours out & the TT's are apparently worse then ill keep on looking i think. Cheers for the intel mate Thumbs Up
