Recently did a category A DAS course with 1st Gear training in Farnborough. Thoroughly recommend them, great training. Passed both mod 1 and mod 2 first time with only 1 and 2 minors respectively. I'm 32 and after years of tinkering around with fast cars, I have now got a sensible car and looking forward to enjoying fun on 2 wheels instead.

Its been a few weeks since I have passed now and I am looking for a 600cc naked as my first bike. I probably started with the same shortlist as everyone with that criteria but have now got it down to either a 2006 Honda Hornet (one with digital speedo and USD forks) or a Yamaha XJ6N. The latter is the bike I trained on and really liked it. I'm only 5'8 so the low seat height also helped. The advantages of fuel injection, potentially ABS and a more modern bike really appeal however I have always loved the shape of the hornet so my heart is trying to force me that way. Hoping to seriously start looking this weekend so will update here once I have been more decisive!

Congratulations on passing your test. Thumbs Up

Good luck with the bike hunt, just in time for our couple of weeks of summer Laughing Laughing

Each to their own, but Hornet every time.

CBR600F / FS? Generally regarded as one of the best all rounders on the market, a fuel injected model in decent nick can be had for very little money.

Hornet also an excellent option if your set on the naked bike
