Currently awaiting acceptance into the North regional section, but I thought i'd make a thread in national because i'd say i'm going to be on the line between north and midlands anyway.

End of next week i'm moving to Macclesfield all the way from Cambridge.

I guess i'll be in need of some friends! I know I wont be short of biker groups and rideouts, being right on the end of the Cat and Fiddle.

But I was hoping there were some local BCFer's that meet up for rides and whatnot.

SE section was a fairly active bunch, and i'm sad to have to leave them!!

So... Who's about?? Someone to show me the best roads, pubs and grub!

When I lived in Macc, its claim to fame was that it had more pubs per capita than any other town. Sadly that's no longer the case.

Speaking of which, I don't want to rain on your parade (although it does rain a lot up here) but the Cat & Fiddle pub has been closed for months and there no sign of it reopening. However the roads around are "good" if you can avoid the queue of traffic held up behind Fred & Doris having a "little run out on a Sunday" at a steady 31mph.

Other than that it's a lovely place to live. We're not far from Macc and you might also stumble across find a sauve-silver-tongued-guitar-swinging-rebel-without-a-clue-Ducati-throttling BCFer practically on your doorstep.

You have been warned Wink

Just be grateful that you don't have my luck and buy your dream house only to find that Ste lives 200 yards from it...

New job innit.

But you'll be at the BBQ right? Wub

Also this now means SE section has to have a northern trip to... well the north I guess. Make a weekend of it. I wouldn't be able to fit many in my place as it's a house-share. Buuuut it's something to have on the cards!

Good luck with your move. Definitely up for venturing north of the wall.

I really want to do some bimbling around Snowdonia this year which isn't that far from you. Maybe we could meet up, get lost, get rained on and compare our latest bodges Smile

BUY?! Good lord, i'm 24 and taking my first steps away from the safety of mummy and daddy! I have a room in a house-share. It'll do Mr. Green Thumbs Up

But i'll give you 5 ponds for your house in Buxton...

I actually looked at a place on Fairfield road, next door to the Wetherspoons by the roundabout. Had nowhere to put my bike so I declined. Also the room was tiny; couldn't have spun round with an erection in there.
