If Rossi couldn't tame it at the height of his powers, then Lorenzo has no chance IMO. Marquez, maybe... but Lorenzo? No.

Completely different bike, software and tyres now.

The duke is now a very competitive prospect.

That ^

Comparing the Ducati of then and now is a night / day prospect.

Good luck to him. I think he'll do well and it's what Ducati need, also.

The VR46 fans have been out in force on FB and the like saying that it's Yamaha getting rid of their No2 rider - yes, the No2 rider that's the current world champion Laughing

Dovi has developed the Duc into a race winning machine.....guess he'll get the boot now. Neutral

So Lorenzo gone for the dollar and the possible bragging rights of a possible championship...something VR couldn't do. Plus he'll be top dog in his own garage.

About time the pack got shuffled. Viñales and Aleix Espargaró please take 1 step forward.

I think Vinales and Espargaro should stick with Suzuki it's getting more competitive by the week going to Yamaha would mean playing second fiddle to the pensioner with a massive ego.
Rossi's never going to win another world championship they should have done all they can to keep to keep Lorenzo!

I think you'll find Rossi wasn't at the height of his powers when he joined Ducati, he was 2 yrs into his decline by then.

Fastest lap in the recent Jerez test was done by Redding on the Ducati. A fast bike ridden by a Satellite rider. Lorenzo has a competitive bike for 2017.

If anything this highlights just how special Stoner was at the time when nobody else could get a duc into the top 12.

Isn't Redding's bike last years one?
