I won't commit yet as something usually happens when I commit to date. Should be free though.

A not very standard fzs600 i.e. the original Fazer 600.

I reckon I'd be quicker on standard gearing, it's currently -1 up front, but I'm a fanny when it comes to wheelies so I chicken out when it starts to lift Laughing

I reckon they're less probably less peaky as standard too, mine has a k&n, race exhaust and dynojet kit. It properly flies along above 10krpm, doesn't do much at all below 8 though.

I think it's bundled free in my massively overpriced Virgin TV thing.

One week to go people so get your lives and your bikes sorted.

Long term weather looks to be good at the moment.

Had a thought. I didn't run the Striple baffle out last time.

Looking at my timing sheets, my average speed in October (baffle out) was 107.61mph. Last time (baffle in) it was 105.44mph

2.17mph variance (2%)

Baffle in reduces standard power by 2.5bhp, baffle out is +3bhp. So essentially, I was possibly down around 5.5bhp (5.24%).

I think baffle in provides a smidge more midrange, which may be the reason I beat my time last time anyway, even with a slower terminal speed.

I could bring the SV, just for the overrun and save some abuse on my Striple. But I've not got the racing can on it anymore, so it's a bit muted compared to 18mths ago. Plus it's painfully slow.

It's all tiny margins and I'm clearly only racing my timesheet, but not knowing is going to niggle.
But then I might turn up, be slower and then start blaming the June weather. The air was colder in October. So then I'd have to bring the Striple, baffle-less, back in October.....and to be a true test, go on a diet to lose the 1/2st I put on Smile

Overthinking it. But am considering Striple without baffle, just to see.
Neighbours will kill me, it is quite loud.

Meh. Not really. It's fairly dull and uneventful (remind me I said that when the string plugged tyre finally lets go at 107). In a straight line, the Striple doesn't cause my brain to dump adrenaline like it did on day1 when I got it.
On the twisties it's a different story Wink

With it's shorter gearing, bouncy suspension and grabby clutch. The SV will actually be more of a challenge to get it's best time from I think. Plus I'd like to know what it can actually do.

But if I don't bring the Striple, it will niggle.

I'll flip a coin the night before.

The weather looks like it's going to be pretty unsettled all week, hopefully it won't spoil our plans.

Well, Striple it is. Going to try and replace fork springs on SV beginning Friday evening. Will either go to Santa Pod on Striple, or if its raining then finish (hopefully) getting front end sorted on SV.

Forecast is acceptable - Met Office says only 5-10% chance of rain and 15 degrees.

Who is meeting at the Ace then? I will see you at the motorway junction with Lee.

I'm meeting Pigeon on the A3 for some dogging at some silly early time in the morning. I presume we're going to the Ace but don't know, I'll just follow him.

Have a load of track side and on-bike photos that i'll sift through later or tomorrow.

For now though; Carvel Vs Pigeon, followed by me vs mr zzr1400 Mr. Green.

Good seeing you guys again, always a good giggle.

I got back at 7pm and the last 15mins were in under the cloud of rain that usually finds Matt.
But to be fair, we were really lucky with the weather, it kind of threatened to rain a few times and that would have been curtains for long periods, instead we got quite a lot of runs again.

* First drag strip sideways moment.
* Lesbian S&M session....that apparently needed to be paid for.
* Fastest granny drives the quietest muscle car.
* Ford KA's don't do burnouts.
* Jet car that turned money and time into fire, smoke and noise.....but what a noise. Never heard anything like it!
* Got a PB Mr. Green (0.16 quicker and 4.5mph faster at the end). Also logged slowest time ever recorded....twice!
* Sausage in the morning, sausage(ish) in the evening.
* Joe got a nail in his 300kg 150bhp, 100lb bike, was happy to continue but basically got thrown out by the unwashed masses behind him and didn't want there runs spoilt by his smeared brain.
I reckon it was the FZ750 that Joe smoked who got his revenge.
* MattB nearly bought Downton Abbey, but it didn't have enough room for his bikes.
* My turn to get the number completely glued to my plate. Removed a finger nail + skin getting most of it off. Attacked it with solvent now and finished the job.

Two Triumphs in our group and not one broke down!.....although when I got home, slowing for a tight turn and I could hear grinding on the rear wheel when applying the brake. I have no rear brake pad, its on the metal......clearly overuse trying to contain massive wheelies.

It would have been a very small smear. I'd like to add that the 'nail' was a small staple that had gone sideways into the thick bit of tread - no risk of a puncture. Tyre pressures have not changed one bit. Damn safety gimps.

Was another cracking day, inspired by the jet car I'm thinking about doing something similar to my bike. Currently just fitted the other half's hair dryer - I'm expecting a sub 9 second run.
