Take multimeter, turn on engine, rev to 4000rpm and check the voltage coming back into the batter (charging voltage)
It should be 13.XX - 14.XX regardless of if any/all the electrics are on.
If it is lower, it's probably the Reg/rec, although the same symptoms were shown and my stator windings had fried. Could be either, but more likely Reg/rec.
Check wiring and conectors for good contacts. See if batter holds its charge, both on and off the bike. Batt could be fecked. Don't rule anything out untill you know 100%
PS I have Gullarm and have had same problems. Both my stator and Reg/rec went, and not at the same time either. Charging problems on those bikes are plentyful. N stuff...
Good luck, let us know how you get on. |
