Hi all
First time bike rider here so be nice if possible....
Hi all I just bought a second-hand mountain bike and I thought I'd join a friendly forum to maybe learn a little about the bike and how to maintain it/upgrade it... et cetera.. It's a bit beaten up but I like it it's a Carrara Vulcan 20 inch men's mountain bike. It has rockshock forks fitted and new cassette but apart from that is quite standard. The frame is a little tatty and I was wondering if it's worth buying a new one for a bike like this, also I think the chain needs replacing I was wondering if this is the job that I could learn to do myself easily. I'm looking at putting a more comfortable seat on it as well, any advice regarding these things or any other general upgrade type advice would be great!
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance if anyone replies..

Hello there
Hilariously you've probably joined the wrong forum on two counts:
1) We're not friendly; honestly, we're not.
2) The cycling forum here is a sub forum of a motorcycling forum so whilst there is some information in there, it's not as active as a forum that focuses on pedal cycles specifically; so you may get more joy from one of those.
Now, f**k off
Good luck with the bike mate - chain is a do at home job as long as you've a reasonable mechanical knowledge and a chain splitter. |
