Picked up this 2000 'Busa a little while ago. Chap had miss spelt the name and left it on a 99p no reserve auction so I got a bit of a deal.

Apart from the fairing being a bit rattly which I am working on eliminating, and the water pump giving out (found a brand new gen2 pump for 37 quid!) it's good. Has an Ohlins TTX shock in the back and EBC pro-lite discs, along with a nice quality respray.

Pulls like a train. Very Happy

RattLy fairings, bangs and crashes over bumps lol.

May see some gas but need to get the chassis sorted first, and the clutch needs a one piece hub as it's snatching when launching at the moment. power commander and a weight saving 4-1 wouldn't go amiss either!

I forsee extensions and a slammed stance in the not too distant...

Check the underside of the nose, the plastics come together under there with some of those cheap fairing clips that splay when you push in the center pin. Very common for these to go and just one of them gone will sound terrible every time you hit a bump.

Best off changing them out to these type, that screw in.

16 years old and still does look fresh. If it had clear turn signals covers, I wouldn't be able to tell it's this old. Nice one, OP. Thumbs Up

I could - black link pipe & 220mph clocks make it pre-2001 and silver forks pre- 2003.

Nice looking non-standard paint on that bike. The white really suits it imho.

I've seen that paint scheme before, is it an import?

Nice bike though! Thumbs Up

1800 quid.

Like I said, bargain.

And yeah I like the paint too Pete, it's rare to get a custom aftermarket job that really suits a bike.

yeah, I've been over it and I know there are fairing fixtures missing, that's why I said i was working on it. It's also missing the 'wing' that goes under the exhaust so the rear of the fairings move about. I think just getting all the pins in will help massively though.

I've got a wallet with every service the bike has ever had and every penny spent, including an engine rebuild a couple of years ago.

The receipts total over 10 grand.

You would never guess this bike had 83,000 miles on it.

Oh, and I am the third owner. Smile
