Just curious if wind noise's an issue for anyone else and what you do about it? Wearing ear plugs (or headphones) seems a bit foolish as your ears do a good job of keeping you alive, but helmet wise there doesn't appear to be much that covers your ears, except those full face downhill MTB type helmets.

I've never worn a helmet and TBH the full face ones look a little childish. If I was to wear one I'd quite like...

Not so much noise but I can get earache if there's a cold wind.

I have one of those fleece earband things for when that's an issue.

Annoys the shit out of my wife, she thinks it looks stupid because it's essentially a hat with no top so I take every oppertunity to wear it.

I find in-ear earphones (Sennheiser CX400 are my favourite, as mine have a lanyard so the wires aren't pulling on the earphones) sort this out. I definitely suffer on long, fast rides, having earphones in (even without music) helps. They block out the wind white noise without being obtrusive to general traffic noise. I can always hear cars coming up behind, whereas tired ears aren't as good.

Interesting. Looks like a DIY version shouldn't be that hard, although it does mean wearing a helmet.

I wear earbuds most of the time when I'm cycling in London.
It's certainly more dangerous than not, but for me it's a bit overrated - there's so much going on, random horns beeping everywhere in the distance etc, that I don't find it much of a hindrance.

Not to block wind noise though, I don't ride my bike at 50mph much. Laughing

Only problem I can see with that is people will think I'm either trying to be gangsta or I've got cancer.
