While in halfords today, I decided to pick up one of their maintenance stands for the princely sum of 40 ponds.

It's remarkably sturdy for the low price, lots of reviews on the halfords website are saying the same thing.

Fuck halfrauds.

Have you tried the Aldi/Lidl ones? I imagine they are fairly similar although half the price.

Looky here at Captain McMoneyBurn. All swish with his excellent bike repair stand. The very same one that can indeed be had at opportune moments from Aldi and or Lidl for an even princelier sum of Nineteen Ninety Nine.

Still, props for not wanting an orange-shouldered mouthbreather to actually work on your bike. Thumbs Up
