Just dropped in to say hello.

'Returned' to biking last week from a 40+ year absence.

Apart from illegally riding an Indian built Bajaj Avenger 200cc cruiser last year for 3 days while on holiday in Goa, the last 'bikes' that I rode were my own Yamaha SS-50 (AKA FS1-E) & my mate's Suzuki 200 something or other back in 1974.

My full UK driving licence only covered me to ride a 'moped' without L plates so I did my CBT last week and bought a cheap, new Honley HD3 125cc (made in China on the Yamaha production line) from the UK & Europe distributors, Earnshaws in Huddersfield.

FWIW, I had read lots about buying Chinese bikes before I bought it, so I'm not expecting too much from it

Eh, maybe. Jianshe do make bikes for Yamaha, but that doesn't look quite like any of them. It could be a one-off for Honley, I suppose.

If you're interested, you could try plugging the VIN in here https://www.whomademybike.com/

That aside, it'll probably be as decent a bike as Honda or Yamaha's current offerings, and a fine way to get back into biking. My Huoniao HN125-8 was surprisingly unfragile, and a doddle to ride. Enjoy.

Thanks for that link.

Here's a link to the manufacturer's website:-

https://tdm.gmc.globalmarket.com/products/details/motorcycle-150cc-custom-model-with-eec-4207348.html

It's shown as a 150cc Ranger but for European markets it is the 125cc Honley HD3 SE

The Yamaha badged model with some subtle appearance differences as sold in China is the YB 125 SP (Not YBR):-

Ah, or a "cruisier". Wink https://www.tiandacycle.com/gb/Introduction.php?id=253

Always something new under the sun.

Whatever it is, it's a very nice looking bike and I wish you joy of it.
