Parking in hotel car parks overnight

As the title suggests really.
Car parks are not the safest places at the best of times... but overnight

What is the best security for this situation, places like Travel Lodges at motorway services for instance

Wish they would say on websites if they have secure parking for bikes

Ask the guy on the desk where the cameras point and chain the bike up there. With a big chain and lock. And if you have the room pack a cover and dress the bike once it's parked the night.

ive worked in a few...
including as security...
like fuck do we take our time to watch over your goods.

also cctv hardly ever works because cost to maintain yo.

big chain + lamp post is the best bet

Generally hotels have big size doors, lifts and corridors, because remove the stiff in the coffin.

So long as you're not doing burnouts in the lift I don't see what the problem is with having Miss Ducati as your guest. Just sign her in as Mrs Smith like everyone else.

Then when the randy couple start banging headboards at 3am, you just bounce it off the rev limiter in time with them. Job jobbethed.

Where abouts are you staying? I'd assume if it's motorway you'll not be there long and only for one night?

We done a south coast tour last year, just wacked a chain round the bikes (3 of them) and left them right outside the door, had no issues, we decided that no one would be able to carry 3 bikes, if they cut the chains the alarm would go off and we'd hear them cutting. I wouldnt leave them/it for nights and nights on its own but one night if you arrive late-ish you'll be ok I reckon.

I've left my bike overnight in travellodge and premier inn carparks. For one night I wouldn't worry, especially if parked right in front of the doors.

Walked in to town earlier to go to Sainsburys.Was a 16 plate Yamaha scooter parked on its centrestand just along from my street.Front wheel pointing forward so steering lock not on,and helmet in the footwell.

If i was a thief i could of just wheeled it away and had a helmet to ride when i hot wired it.

Beggars belief how lacksadasical some people are to their bikes security.

Was almost tempted to go back home and get my old Oxford chain and lock it up and put the key in the helmet.

I tend to park where the bike can been seen from the reception desk and/or bar if that is at all possible. Often these are the same thing. I recall being questioned by guests at one hotel who had been propping up the bar when I came back from a night out and stopped to grab my personal emergency toolkit from under the seat. This turned into it being my round, several more rounds and generally being a bit too inebriated for my pillion and I to make the most of being the randy couple keeping everyone awake.

When I have used the "secure underground carpark" I note that the super secure pin to get out hasn't changed in years and the entry barrier is permanently upright so it doesn't take a genius to circumvent the security theatre.

I'm loathe to carry a huge chain on tour as it massively eats into my safe luggage weight. I might reassess if i had a more desireable bike or went significantly riskier places.

One night at a premier inn is unlikely to be an issue unless it's a place that regularly has lots of bikes. Case and return equipped takes time. If it's too far between other potential targets it's not a particularly economical place to keep checking for targets.
