A bike lock the sprays thieves with nasty chemicals?

Have you guys heard of this new bike lock, SkunkLock? It sounds pretty good, it releases noxious chemicals when thieves try to cut through it. I had my bike stolen quite few times you guys have thoughts on this lock? Chains are too heavy for my commute so hoping that this lock does the trick. Doesn’t look like they’re selling yet but they’re taking preorders on their website skunklock.com I signed up with my email, we’ll see what happens.

Unless you fill it with acid or anthrax it won't do much good.

Would be cool to have one filled with that liquid that is impossible to get off and is bright coloured, the one they use on clothes to prevent theft. like this then an angle grinder would spray it all over your clothing. Sure it wouldn't stop you, but it would be a pain in the ass and has worked enough for clothing stores for years.

And that nicely illustrates the difference between gun attitudes in the civilised world and the land of the the free. Here we keep the firearms behind much security and try not to give them to crazy people or anyone with a criminal record. There there is a belief that such things make you safer if everyone has one and crazy people market them as motorcycle security without considering that the person most likely to set of an alarm is the owner of the property it is installed to protect.

With a small transformer and a door buzzer you can get a few thousand volts from your 12v battery, this can be discouraging. We use to make them as kids at school, great fun. It would be difficult for a would be thief to claim any harm from such a device, even if they were stupid enough to report it.
