Got myself a map cylinder as heard they heat up hotter than propane.

However I'm not sure i can use with my propane torch?

Any advice appricated.

Aye there are different types. There are propane torches that normally you fit on a butane/propane mix cylinder, a camping gas type affair. And then there is a more pro type that you can get map cylinders for, or just propane. Different attachment type on each. What torch have ya got? I'm guessing you'll need a rothenberger superfire 2 torch or the likes.

I got one off ebay but they can be a little ££ if you only need it to do a single job. However, it is excellent for cooking pizzas too, so don't forget that.

Gas torches are designed to burn specific fuels.

I am not certain of the sciency stuff but differing fuel need different quantities of oxygen to burn efficiently.

Acetylene and propane gas cutting torches are totally different animals too

Noone makes proper MAPP gas since 2008 so it will be a lpg/propane substitute anyway. Nice bit of accepted false advertising Laughing

You can use existing torch, mine was a shit bernzomatic brand torch, you may need to shorten the end as mapp/subsitue burn in a slightly more compact flame than propane.
