Unlikely, that would require a level of forethought unheard of within such organisations.

My guess would be there's a shortage of people on hand to actually GAF.

Without getting bogged down in facts. It seems to be very EU, to create a possibly daft law that drives up costs (direct or indirect) for anyone who implements it. So states pretend to ignore it in the hope it goes away, and some poor shmucks have implemented it driving up their costs and reducing their competitiveness against others who don't need to, or haven't bothered.

One example that springs to mind is animal welfare, which appeals to the UK's sense of having love for fluffy things. Some other countries don't give a shit about Chickens or whether or not a Sow has enough room to sit down or not. So we spent millions implementing it, half of Europe didn't. Many of our eggs and milk come from abroad where its cheaper Rolling Eyes

As I said, I've made 100% of that up.

In short. #VoteBrexit !!! ......oh, yeah, we did.

I'm pretty sure my new bike is Euro 3. None the less, they can implement all the rules they want.
Its nothing that can't be undone with a nice warranty friendly Akrapovic decatted race pipe. Twisted Evil
My steed won't go near an MOT test centre until 2019 so balls to them and their EU rules. Middle Finger Razz Middle Finger
ABS disabled easily by removing a fuse. It's going in for the new pipe when I get home, just had an
email to say its in stock and waiting for me to bring the bike in to have it fitted.

Hi

Problem comes if the police decide that disabling the abs is driving with faulty brakes (they have done people in the past for non working abs as faulty brakes). And at some point we will get hit with anti tamper measures

Al the best

The EU are graciously allowing disabling ABS on dual purpose on/off road bikes. I don't believe there's any definition of off road, so liberties can be taken - the new Mash cafe racer is going to have switchable ABS, for example.

Some sort of undefined powertrain anti tamper should be present on all A1 and A2 bikes as of next year.

A bikes are initially exempt. Let's see how long that lasts.

Hi

Allowing a switch to turn it off is not the same as it being legal to have turned off while on the road

Case I am thinking of is from many years ago where locked wheels on a gatso camera photo for a car with standard fit abs was used for a prosecution for driving with faulty brakes

All the best

Seven learner bikers in a group? I wonder how many of them were riding otherwise than in accordance.

So probably wiser to replace the existing fuse with a 'blown' fuse, swear it happened 5 minutes earlier, and that you're on your way to get a competent mechanic to look at it.
