so fast forward a few days, things got done, had a clean got the green shit off, cleaned the old engine paint off, cleaned the chain, new set of rubber and headlight fitted Very Happy

ready for its first mot in 5 years...

wake up at 7am, hour before mot realising that little black plug i couldnt for the lift of me work out what it was for..sidelight!

hunting round for some sort of sidelight as the new headlight didnt have anywhere for a bulb..

improvised!

https://i.imgur.com/aKbnBD9.jpg

much braappp to the mot station walked out with a pass and no advisories Very Happy

only issue so far is it wont idle because the adjuster is well seized in place and the carbs are a prick to remove...

or so i thought this was the only issue.. riding back it seemed a thirsty bitch... then my leg got cold, look down to see a big wet patch.. bugger tanks holed!

https://i.imgur.com/ZeHSTf5.jpg

drain it dry it make sure its all safe and weld the bitch to within an inch of its life.

good as new!

now runs rides stops and goes as it should almost just idle to sort out then its good!

total spend is about £100!

That really is excellent, you have a real talent. I'm loving my Enfield but that Fazer is a project well done. Now all that's left is for you to roll up at the shop and show off your hard work!

Success! I hate to break it to you but you don't need a sidelight for MOT. My Bros has never had one.

Looks good, I'd have probably done an oil and filter change, given it some new wheel bearings as a precaution maybe the head bearings too and probably a new set of brake pads/ strip and rebuild.
