Hi.

I'm looking to plan my first Europe tour.
I am looking for a foldout map where I can research things In Europe that I want to see on the internet and then design a rough route, to include on the map the things I've found.

I am however struggling to find a wall map type of thing that has enough detail to allow route planning and isn't just an educational poster thing showing the countries and nothing more than the name of the capital city.

I know I should embrace technology but I think this way will show a good visual indicator of where I'm wanting to go etc.
Anyone ever bought something like this.?

Like this?

Europe is huge and you arent going to get a map with much detail on it unless you narrow down to specific countries. You can plan using google maps and create routes if you create an account, its easy to do. I planned out my holiday over the summer by using google.

This was mine

I doubt very much that you will find a paper map of europe that is also of a 'biker friendly' scale.. a map of this type will only show the Autoroutes and major roads.. it will miss out smaller towns and villages too.

you would be better served to think on a smaller scale.. decide which country or countries you want to visit and buy individual maps for those.. or better still the regions within the country that you want to visit.. as an example, its pointless having a map of the Baltic coast of Germany if you are heading for Bavaria... Or in France.. the languedoc.. if the furthest south you are going is the Alsace.

Sooner or later opinions fade and the name on the tank matters not. I think that happens somewhere between 3rd and 4th gear. Enjoy the ride... everything else takes care of itself.

Thanks for that.

I will look into the Google option, as much as I hate computers it will be the best and probebly the cheapest option.
