are they that bad?

As I've mostly owned Honda's I've not had many dealings with them, and I don't like Grafton Honda, so I tend to go to Norton Way Honda in Letchworth.

Its extra 4 horsepower should make all the difference.

I do want one though.

Was considering one of these for a replacement for my commuter, because could take it off-road / green-laning over winter.

Or more accurately the Sky-team version because 50% cheaper and has a kickstart (both more appropriate for dropping / crashing in muddy lanes).

Their reputation amongst local MK bikers is very poor. Join the MK Bikers Facebook page and stick a "Should I use Mission" post up, I bet you will get a lot of replies and not one will be positive. I've found them to be offhand and lacking knowledge about the 2nd hand stock. Each time I've tried they are difficult about providing test rides.

Hopefully your experience will be better with the purchase of a new bike Thumbs Up

I have not ridden it, for reasons to boring to go into I am not insured to ride it and won't be until later in the summer.

It vibrates a lot more than the 125cc, even with bar ends on. The old !25cc lost it's bar ends when it had heated grips fitted.

The bars seem different, but maybe the whole bike just felt slightly different cos its new. The 200cc has some sort of oil radiator on the front of the frame. The little tail pack is cheap and nasty. We took the tool kit out already, but it's a poorly made pack. Think poundland, rather than Kriega.

The 200cc has five gears.
The 125cc had six gears.

Rides almost the same, but a bit better, according to the wife. So, just the ticket for her. I think it's the sort of bike that might get fixed to the back of a big camper van.

I've been there a few times, the first was an attempt to get a test ride for my first big bike.
No joy.
Two more attempts at test rides resulted in nowt. Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Thumbs Down

They let me test ride a CRF250L, though they did ask I didn't take it down a byway.

So, the vanvan 200cc.

I rode it round a carpark, 1st gear is so much nippier and quicker to pull away.

The fuel range is less than that of the 125cc, the reserve light came on at about 80 miles today, when I was sitting pillion, we had about 99 on the clock when we got to the bike shop.

Apart from fuel range, it's just like the 125cc, except slightly better all round.

Cool, will get onto that. Thumbs Up

My vanvan 125cc reviews have had more hits than anything else I've done.

This is a genuine question, not a pisstake!
What are the tyres/wheels on a Van Van all about?
Why are they big and fat and what purpose do they claim to serve?

They look cool, and they introduce a certain 'wobbliness' to the ride, particularly on roundabouts.

I think they are homage to the original VanVan's 'sandbike' origins. Wide, lower pressure tyres work a bit better on sand. Not that I ever took a bike over the dunes Rolling Eyes
