The authorised breakers/salvage yards are contracturally obliged to follow the accepted procedures for Cat A etc. So I would guess that you're not breaking any law, certainly not any criminal law that I know of, but the insurer or yard who sold you the frame are in breach of their contract.

BTW I'm no lawyer (barrack room or otherwise) I'm just aware of these procedures through experience, both mine and others.

I'm amused to see that the ABI's definitive code of practice is still on about VIC checks. Wait, what? It actually still mentions tax discs. Laughing

Their view is that "Salvage disposers should use best endeavours to ensure that category A and B vehicles do not reappear on the road."

That's it.

So: "Yeah, mate, yeah, I'ma break it for parts myself. How much for the scrap, to save you carting it away and touting it round breakers?"

At the risk of intrupting another fight on the legal / moral implications of cat A's and b's, getting back to the original question, does anybody know where Cat c's and d's can be bought from?

Specific sites, no, but why would there be? There's loads on eBay. Street Triples seem to be particularly prone to it.

There are! Like Copart, I just wanted to see some other options, saw another one the other day but was rather small, more descriptive than copart tho.

Any Cat A's I've seen have been a burnt out shell, but I'm sure with some gaffer tape... Wink
