How big a 13 years old? We talking an adult size bike here? They going to handle a 27.5" wheel?
You could try Decathalons B-twin range if you want new. Just remember at £250-300 you're getting something built down to a budget. They're knocking out aluminium framed, hardtail 27.5"ers with SRAM gearsets for your budget.
Consider second hand for a better bike for the same money. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

For £250 I'd go second hand for something that's not full suspension.
As Stinky said, we need some idea of what size you're after. If it's too big for him then that'll mean the bike ie more likely to end up rusting away in the back of the shed. |
