After two years, they are back with more power: 201 bhp (previously: 170 bhp) and 143 Nm (previously: 98 Nm) and tons of carbon bits and adjustable parts. They still use the VFR 1200 engine, severely tuned, with new internal parts. Other bits stayed quite the same.
The traction control and quickshifter come as standard now. The carbon fiber composite bits (body panels, wheels) are saving about 65% of weight of the original parts.

Selling price: £47,000

*The original Ace was a limited series motorcycle (50 units). Apparently, it was also a huge success, as they've already sold them all.

It's comments like that which makes Adam Aarons think he is doing well.

At the crank, judging by the original figures.

Still fast though. Thumbs Up

Wouldn't own one, can't see the point in naked bikes when fairing exists.

LOVE LOVE LOVE those carbon wheels though!!!!!

Looks like, there's a hub at the end of the single swing arm.

Also looks a bit like a Ducati Monster with that egregious ladder-frame. The Ducati will be faster in the real world, since none of the Ariels will ever be ridden there.

Looks identical to the VFR1200 shaft drive. Will be interesting to see if it copes with more power than it was designed for.

Also, no side shots from the LHS. That would be because the shaft drive isn't the pretty side... Laughing

Are you suggesting that you're more likely to crash on a faired bike, or that it's cheaper to fix when you do?

Either way, when you're NOT having a crash, you've got all the lovely wind and weather protection that a faired bike has to offer. Hopefully you'll spend more time not having a crash than having one, so I'm still struggling to see the point Laughing

Not sure I'd trust carbon wheels. What happens to them if a lorry flicks a stone into them?

I'd have one, then sell it and buy a couple of bikes and pocket the remaining £40k. Fugly parts bin top trump mobile.

More power bet less weight, so for that aspect the shaft will be at less stress - at least when not using the full power ... which in reality isn't going to be that often probably because at lower speeds it'll wheelie and higher speeds where you need the power to overcome wind you'll be putting a lot of effort into holding on yourself.

Still, I'd have preferred them to throw carbon at a litre sports bike that already makes that sort of power - but that's not what people with £50k to spend are so interested in vs a shiny status symbol I would guess Smile.

Nicely bonkers.

I'd have preferred to see a square 4 though. Maybe graft a couple of ER6s together or something. That or a totally batshit mental long-stroke single.

Gotta have that unique selling point and as a 1200 V4 shaftie, it'll always be a modded honda.

Thought the back tyre looked a bit thin - 200hp with a 180 rear?

Again, sure it'll be fine for the typical rider, or most people on the road too - but bikes with this much power typically have 200 rear tyres for a bit of extra durability.

Guess the swingarm is limiting.

I'd imagine the typical rider will put it straight in their air conditioned collection, possibly after riding it to the Ace, once.

Standard fitment for the VFR12 is a 190 rear. Seeing as it uses the same running gear at the rear I'm betting the Ace will accommodate the same.

Interestingly the VFR is restricted in the lower two gears to (presumably) protect the shaft drive. Wonder if they kept the restriction..

I immediately wondered if they had gone for a 60 profile (quite common and I prefer it for sharper steering) or 55. It seems the original is 190/55.

A 180/60 could be not far off the diameter of the 190/55, but the 180/55 should of course be a bit smaller.

So; I'm thinking; a very cheap method of down-gearing?
