It was during the run that Brundle suffered the issue, and only found out afterwards how serious it was.

"I had a small heart attack running to do the podium in Monaco," Brundle said on stage at Autosport International.

"I ended up with a 23mm stent in my left anterior descending."

Brundle underwent a heart operation soon after the Monaco race and missed the following grand prix in Canada so he could recover.

He thought the injury would force him out of a drive he had secured in the Road to Le Mans LMP3 support race at the 24 Hours, but was given the all clear by medical staff.

"I didn't think I could do the race," Brundle said.

"And the cardio guy said to me, 'Yeah, you can do the race. Just don't forget your blood thinners.'

"So I rang Zak [Brown] and Richard [Dean, United Autosports team chiefs] - then did 75 laps at Palmer Sports in a car, had bruises coming out of my chest, but I love Le Mans and thought 'I'm not going to miss this'."

Not sure what your medical problems are, but if this is possible then you must have a chance to continue.

Course he can, anything that takes a diet of Silkolene with a unleaded mixer is good for you!

Once it really gets into your clothes and you breath in the vapours it can cure most problems! Smile

That's going to be a shock to the system, and if the bikes have to go then they have to go.

Did the doctor not reccomend any exercise groups/programs? There is normally a qualified Exercise therapist run through local GP's that specialises in people at risk of heart problems and various other ailments. Not 100% sure but think lots of people are also eligible for free or heavily reduced gym memberships which is subsidised by the GP/government/NHS. May be worth asking about.

I'd definately consider your options before selling the bike as your body is definately able to change significantly physiologically with exercise and therefore potentially be fine for riding again. If youre going to be forced to change your lifestyle anyway then perhaps at least salvage the bikes!

I actually knew of someone with a heavily modified Rover 800 vitesse who had a Reliant as a daily driver. Im guessing they are generally peanuts to run?

Just for updates. Still having tests. Had a angiogram (not fun) and other bits and bobs. Lost 15 kg weight in 25 days (eat your heart out weightwatchers Laughing

) Feeling a lot better and been down the boat wiring in some new LED lights.

The Trophy has been started and run up to temperature, everything checked and has now been put back to bed. I have studiously ignored wifies comments about putting it on the market.

Doggy and I are walking every day. We are both old so a mile is enough for us at the moment.

Things are looking up except I do miss a spiced rum and coke Sad

I'm no expert but that seems a fair old whack of lard to get rid of in a short amount of time, fair play.
Unfortunately you have to give up what's been slowly killing you, I'd be miffed but it's for the best. Allegedly.

Pleased to hear things have improved a bit PB. I would think you just need to remain careful for a while, take in and heed doctors advice, and I reckon you'll be back on your bike before summer. Mrs permitting of course Laughing
