Until that's done, it's all just empty rhetoric as our own courts will (correctly and Correctly) continue to rule in favour of Brussels.

It needed to be done in Westminster on the instant of the referendum result, as a straight "enact the will of the people" issue. Camoron could and should have had it prepped and ready to go, a one liner, no debate, no other issues, yes or no, then carry it personally to the Lords and say "back it or I'll appoint Lord Farage and hundreds of others".

But that would have required a statesman who actually believed in democracy rather than a huffy toff. Sharia is no better, and until she actually delivers a revocation, it's all just talk. An Article 50 declaration isn't sufficient, and she knows it.

Try it now and Parliament will bleat and debate and bog it down. Invoke Article 50, let the MPs see the sky hasn't fallen and we're well-placed in The World, they'll accept it.

That should have been done as part of the original details put before parliament for the referendum. Rather than just having a rough opinion poll.

All the best

This is our only chance at Brexit. If it doesn't work we'll be humbled and in for ever more and UKIP will fizzle out.

An apt analogy for BNP-lite!

Yes, a single-issue lobby group as I said.

Cameron gave us a referendum only in a vain attempt to hammer Tory Leavers, it was a party-political gamble which backfired massively, the cock. UKIP-ers are single-issue voters with Tory-sensibilities anyway. UKIP are finished, they just don't know it yet. Twisted Evil

Wow, May's speech. A consummate politician.

If 50 goes through, she's fine. If it gets blocked in the HoC, she looks as if she's tried to do her job but the bad old MPs have stopped her. If that happens, she can call a general and win by a landslide as Labour is a million miles behind in the polls. Very, very cunning.

Either way, she gets to hold on to power. Super cunning.

If Trump simply pulled the US funding (is that within the Executive's remit?) how long would the UN last?

See also, NATO.

Ah, I forgot about the Supreme Court. MPs might be able to knobble Brexit from next Tuesday.

Nope. Not without 2/3rd of MPs voting in favour. Turkeys and Christmas spring to mind.

Sharia is enjoying playing at being a real PM far too much to risk anything that might shorten her reign.

<edit: my original post on the culture and immigration of the UK population disappeared?>

Anyway sorry I was distracted from the original question

Between Trump and Brexit I think we have a fair chance of getting the TTIP that the EU wont be getting, what can be sold will be sold -probably to foreign investors - and the issue of sovereignty will pale in comparison to the golden rule.

He who has the gold maketh the rule.

We were the ones pushing TTIP in Europe.

We will be negotiating with a Trump from a position of weakness. He isn't known for respecting weakness on othèrs, kindness or mercy.

Just thought we need the good will of Spain and Argentina to get through the WTO

I wonder what they could both want from us.

She can call a general any time she likes and with Labour a mess, the LibDems being too insignificant to worry about, she will return with a sizeable majority.

If she doesn't push Brexit through.

So either way, she wins. Clever.

Well, what I find about the Brexit, socialists (and you are all socialists), is trying to 'take down the elite' who are earning money and trying to better themselves is counter-productive. I am convinced Thatcher had it right:

WTF has HSBC and UBS announcing moving staff out of the UK, post brexit, got to do with socialism or "taking down the elite"!

I seem to recall, that a couple of years ago, HSBC were castigated for being involved in money laundering, tax avoidance, arms dealing and effectively dictating editorial policy in two national newspapers, to try and avoid those ,nasty, journalists publishing the sordid details of HSBC's corruption.
All in all "a bunch of gobshites" would be a more than fair description!
