This is PAV 40 mounting scaffolding, for inspiration:
*that word there means degrees = 38°.

Looks like I've gone chunky enough anyway!

Just to add, that metal ring there on the top left tube, that's where they put the 12v/6v water-proof plug for the PAV's tail light wiring, so you can unplug the wiring when detaching the PAV.

Progress. The bike is now back together.

I've fitted the new mudguard properly and extended it by rivetting part of another one to it. New Lucas pattern taillight unit fitted and wired in.

Fancy electrical connector fitted in the side of the numberplate holder to plug the trailer wiring into.

https://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/stinkwheel/Trailer/DSCN0154.jpg

I've drilled the mudguard and fitted grommets for the sub-loom which is a piece of 7-core trailer board cable. Tough as old boots, waterproof and means I don't have to mess about wrapping it. Multipin connector to the bikes wiring under the saddle then through the mudguard with it.

https://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/stinkwheel/Trailer/DSCN0155.jpg

Along the underside of the mudguard and back through into the taillight housing. I've just used cable ties to hold it to the inside of the mudguard. Simple and effective. I've tried rivetting P-clips on before and they failed after a while leading to cable rubbing. Because I used multicore cable, it shouldn't bother being up under the mudguard like that (the original wiring was under there and just wrapped in PVC tape).

Newly painted towing hitch fitted (slapped on zinc oxide primer then plastikote "metalprotekt" rattle can).

Rack and numberplate refitted using VHB pads on the back of the numberplate. A LITTLE bit of white light gets past the hitch onto the numberplate. As long as some makes it, it's sufficient for an MOT.

A couple of bits to do with the trailer tomorrow and it's road test time. Mostly checking everything's tight, fitting the numberplate and fitting a couple of rubber bonnet straps to keep the lid closed.

There's a rack for the top of the trailer I'm not going to fit just yet. I'm also going to put a fair bit of that black retroreflective tape on the trailer so it's easily seen from the side in the dark. nobody is going to expect a motorcycle to have a trailer on.

If an Enfield is too fast, fit a trailer.

Ok. It's on and working.

Not much to report. You hardly notice it's there when riding.

Tried it with a load of stuff to take to the tip totalling maybe 30kg. All fine once it was properly strapped down.

I've ordered a UJ from a landrover steering column for it to replace the current lash-up thing. And a mudflap.

Considering fitting a flag so I can see the trailer in my mirrors.

Video is extremely boring, it's just of the hitch under a variety of speeds, accelerations and turnings.

It's a fuel tank for my on-demand nitromethane injector...

Nah, it's oil, got fed up carrying it in my luggage and getting oil all over everything.

Well, let's hope the empty PAV won't be too tail happy in the cross winds.
