Are they legal on bikes after 1972 (historic vehicle cut off). If not how likely am I to be caught if I put one on? It would set off my brand new old royal enfield off a treat Thumbs Up

to be honest if you had the old style plates on an old- fashioned?!? modern bike ( if that makes sense) you would be hard pushed to get too much grief from the police

theyll probably be more inclined just to have a quiet word if they stop you at all.

as long as you have the right reg for the bike its not that much of an issue
