Hey everyone, in the process of rebuilding an NSR125 JC22, thought id share the story here as I've seen this forum seems to have the most info on the NSR Smile Im also making a vlog of the build, half for interest and half for remembering how everything goes back together! Hope you can help me out along the way.

Sorry about the sound quality and blurry bit in the middle, first time video maker so give me some slack Wink Current situation is the carb is leaking when I open the petcock. Id say the carb floats are stuck or its just gunked up, I am currently looking for a rebuild kit. I think its a Dellorto PHBH 28 so first step is to hear it running and go from there.

Thanks for your interest. My VLOG is on YouTube below

Think this is the right kit for the carb, it's marked as a PHBH 28 FD, handy site

I'm interested in this but unfortunately the video isn't available when using an iPad. I never know why that is. Anyway, I'll have a look on the work's computer tomorrow. Regarding paint, it isn't cheap, and the final colour as well as the finish is dependent on good preparation. Try RS Bike Paints on-line, or the Halfords paint mixing service. Bike paint codes might not be in their literature but ask and it's likely to be on their computer.

(Cue "Halfrauds" comments, but I think they're excellent these days.)

Get rid of the Youtube app, watch Youtube via a browser search!
You'll be surprised how much more content there is without the app, there are also a lot less adverts!
Same with Ebay, the app is crap, it filters out loads of stuff you'd find without it!

Sorry the video doesn't work, it should work on a browser though like the chrome app. I'm a big fan of Halfords, I have a trade card and get all my service parts there at half the price of the bike motor factors all the same brands (NGK, HiFlo, Castrol etc).

The prepping and painting I'm not too worried about its the color matching of the wheels that I'm afraid of. I have an orbital sander and plenty of time and elbow grease but ill be spraying from cans which I know a lot of people don't approve of but it has always worked alright for me?

*Audio in video fixed

Hey guys,

Got a bit further in the rebuild in the last month. Please feel free to catch up on my VLOG below

https://youtu.be/RrNxVwN9Djw

Should have another one up soon, currently have the front forks and calipers off to spray up. Loads of bits arriving. I only get the odd weekend down home to work on it so progress is slow. Hope you enjoy, please comment if you have any ideas (or problems Razz).

Also for anyone who saw my first one, yes i filled up the engine with 2 stroke oil but i realized just before I ran it it actually takes 10w40 for the gearoil so dont worry Smile

Think I might have to do the same it looks awesome and yeah I bought it for 400 and it was seized and a mess so me and my dad did a engine rebuild top and bottom and had to get a new air box and loss of othe bits and had to re wire it but now its running nicely could just do with a sports exhaust Laughing

Yeah i was looking into the Tyga exhaust, it looks nice and I polished the exhaust port so Ill have to do something for that end of the engine. The livery on your NSR is cool, is it a decal kit? Coca Cola Red wheels might suit yours!

It just seems expensive plus it's designed for the 150 that supposedly puts out 39hp so surely it can't be the best exhaust for the 125 Thinking it's a replica of sito pons campsa Honda nsr 500 I'm not sure if it's a decal kit but I've not seen another one like it even on the internet but yeah red wheels could look nice Thinking

On to next chapter Smile

https://youtu.be/V-nSGdaMEww

And the Tyga exhaust is coming in at €240 from Tyga Europe in mild steel which isnt bad considering what full exhaust systems for bikes usually cost?

True I suppose that's reasonable but I've only really pooked at the stainless one cause otherwise I'd probably go for a gianelli

For longevity stainless is recommended but at the end of the day if you store the bike any bit properly it won't rust for atleast a decade or more. Most cars use mild steel exhausts with no problems for that length of time. It's perfect for the NSR and there is very minute weight difference betweenness stainless and mild steel Smile

Hey lads, lots done more to do. The majority of the NSR is back together, few little niggles. Its a bit sluggish at low revs like when taking off but im hoping thats just the carb mixture screw adjustment. Also I have the screen and seat to be redone, getting the seat reupholstered and the screen is getting painted white. A couple of changes to the decals to get rid of the 150 ones but Its looking well Smile

Three nice Honda's you got there man!

Instead of binning the 150 stickers, I'd have been more tempted to put a silly big bore kit on on it instead.

Anyway the cute Hornet 250 is my favourite, I've always liked to look of Hornets, even more than the Triumph Street triple even!

What's the spec on the MB Civic? Is it a Vti?

Thanks Stevo, I eventually removed the decals. Couldnt justify the price of the big bore when I only want to sell it on. There's good poke out of the 125 though in fairness. A few pics of it now before it goes up for sale. Replaced the indicators after the pic and polished the bar ends and fuel cap. She.is.mint. :O
