Hi People,

Seen as this is the first place I come to ask any kind of bike related question I was wondering what people's thoughts were on the 2016 RR? I currently have a CBR 600F, originally was wanting a fieblade but have been told this will be a good stepping stone. Any thoughts/experience/reviews on the 16 RR is appreciated.

Thanks in advance 👍

If you're going to the trouble of getting a new bike you may as well get the Blade. You'll only look back in 3 months, once you've got used to the slight jump between 600 F and RR and wish you'd gone bigger.

Probably should have mentioned this unfortunately due to my age I can't get the blade as the insurance is insanely exspensive, I just want a bike that can still thrill and be a good commuter etc

If the F isn't falling apart stick with it, do another couple of years, save pennies, build NCD, then buy blade. /thread.

What you're seeking - thrilling and practical - is the hallmark of a CBR6F; if you're extracting everything it has to offer on your commute I'd be amazed.

array is spot on...
With a litre bike in mind though, one word of warning, this summer just gone I went from a CBR600F3 to an YZF-R1 and if I'm honest, for commuting purposes the 600 was far better Rolling Eyes.

Gearing is so high on the R1 I can't even rev it out (without hitting 3 figures?!) may as well fire her up, flop it in 3'rd and be done till I get to work. At least with the 600 I got to change gears now and then.

It's got the umppfff but apart from overtaking there's no opportunity to use it.

And now my 600 is sitting in the garage, stripped and prepped for the track and I actually prefer it on the track as well.

So as much as litre/Blade seems like so much do-want, it can be to much muchness for commuting and less fun Sad.

There is a very occasional blast on a weekend where I Can get a thrill but again, on a bike like that, pushing it on public roads quickly leads into Licence Loss territory

I'm half playing with the idea of selling the R1 to get an R6 or 600RR... Laughing

I choose 250 over 800 most days now, just for the opportunity to actually rev it and whack it up and down the box.

Workmate actually chopped his 600RR in for an 600F. More comfort, less frenetic, exactly the same journey times.

RRacierer and bigerrer isn't always betterer for a commuterer.

I personally would go for the RR, but not new. They are rare and special bikes these days and will teach you far more about machine control than a Fireblade ever will.

But loads of people like to sledgehammer finesse with pure power. Confused

Likewise I seem to be on the 125 most of the time these days for commuting. It's just so much more fun to rag around town that the 650. Way more engaging, the bigger bike is too easy. Only use the 650 when going for a leisure ride or a longer/windier commute.

Throw some cash at the CBR600F instead.

PC3, get the suspension set up properly etc.

Thankyou for all the replies! I took her out for a test ride this afternoon, I couldn't believe how easy it was to ride & very comfortable. I could imagine on long rides the seat would be far to hard but with an air hawk I could imagine doing some miles! Really impressed with it so decided to go ahead and trade it in for mine. I am hoping that it holds some of its value now! But looking at the older models it looks like it should. I agree with you guys about the 125 being ideal for commuting but I wanted an all rounder, just with a slightly bit more power than my CBR 600F. Thankyou again everyone for all points of view 👍

For all those times when you're riding at wide open throttle at 12,000rpm+?

Eh, the heart wants what it wants. Panties will moisten, enjoy. Wink

I have taken all advise but the bike really suited me, I appreciate all thoughts, reviews etc given but for me the bike really spoke for itself and others have already said that a litre bike isn't needed for the streets so the RR seems like a good go between. Sorry if I have offended anyone but I was just seeing what everyone's thoughts were on it. Sorry again

As a 600rr owner I'm trying to understand what the point would be in switching from a 600f to an RR. It's like chalk and chalk? I'd have gone for the blade.

You're in good company, it was actually the best selling (or at least the most registered) 126-650cc bike in January. Last hurrah, that's it killed off by Euro4bollocks now. Sad

First rule of BCF is, if you put your bike in your username you're gonna have to change it and look like an idiot!

Any pics of the RR?
