Anyone planning to go anywhere near Paris from April you need to get a sticker to avoid £100 fine. Details are sketchy but best to avoid problems

Looks like buying a sticker for €3.70 makes your vehicle un-polluting.

Yeah, like the sticker on my exhaust makes it legal for road use. Laughing
Just another good reason to avoid France tbh. The 'South of' bit is okay but you can keep the rest.

Yeh it's a super special sticker that absorbs all the bad stuff and releases a lovely pine fresh scent. The idea is so they can progressively ban the more polluting vehicles on bad days, stupid but hey who wants to pay 100 euros when you can pay 4.

I also applies in a couple of cities in the south...Lyon and Grenoble i believe.

It would almost be worth bothering if you could just rock up to a petrol station and buy one like the Austrian motorway Vignette, but sending off your registration docs just seems like a ballache if you're just passing through or staying a day or two...im just gonna avoid said cities.

If your Pan-European is a pre-2000 model, it doesn't matter whether you want to engage in paperwork ballache or not, it won't be welcome in Paris. Next year Paris intends to implement a rolling ten year ban, meaning that your bike has to be under ten years old at the time you enter the LEZ.

(chrome will translate)

Haven't really seen how you are supposed to comply if you briefly visit while on holiday, considering you need to send off for it in advance with registration number and it probably takes weeks.
I suspect it will be largely ignored by French bikers, FFMC (sort of MAG) urge boycotting.

Takes 30 days. It's French bureaucracy at it's worst and even if briefly visiting on holiday we are supposed to comply by ordering a sticker before leaving.

For the sake of less than 5 Euros might as well comply.

It's a 2000 reg, but i have no plans to go to go anywhere near paris. The other two cities, however, were a viable place to go to/through on my route home.

It looks like you only need the sticker if you go inside the Pereiphique or however its spelt, if you are just going round Paris using the A104/N104 you don't need one. Don't know about Lyon tho, the Autoroute South goes right through the middle of it.
