The way I read the o/p is the bike has never been registered? In this case is it not just the same as registering any other new vehicle, and it'll end up on a 17 plate? That's assuming he's got the original documents it'll have shipped with and it's been sat in a crate for a while....
Maybe it's a new unregistered RC30! |

A new registration requires a "certificate of newness". Even if OP had one, it would be dated 2002, right?
There's insufficient data for a meaningful answer, so we can only do what BCF does best, and speculate. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/new-registrations
I registered a new old stock Dnepr M11 from the 1990s a few years ago. As it was a homologated(?) model it was pretty straightforward and was given a year correct plate. They typically cant retrospectively apply newer emissions standards to an old model and they arent as strict in bikes. Owners clubs and the manufacturer can help with confirming age of the vehicle. ____________________ Some shite cruiser. Now with guns and FREEDOM! |
