I got surfing eBay after a few again and came across this.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401272668726

What do you think would be a good price for it?
I managed to refrain from bidding this time and can't have anymore until I've built a bigger shed.

£4-4.5k in perfect nick.

That is Cat D and already up to £3k, also does not like a bike that was particularly well loved before it got busted up. Harder on resale with a recorded Cat D so anything higher than where it is now is probably OTT.

Just my opinion though.

I got a cat D Versys 650 a while back, the owner had replaced the damaged panels which was all that were damaged. He also got an engineer's report and had all that roadworthy stuff sorted out.

That was a 2014 model with under 5k, and a smidge over 3 grand. I think the seller's getting a good deal at the current 3 grand, maybe bikes are more attractive in February than November?

All of these salvage auctions go for too much IMO. If you have access to a van you can pickup much better 'Paddy specials'.

20 bids, up to £3k so far with 5 days to go? Nah. Laughing

Quite how long has it been sat around? Confused It's got a tax disc that expired in April '14 and the collector box has collected a lot of flux.

Why has it got a brand spanking new rear tyre? Laughing

Also no MOT and the ABS light is on think the price is going to be way over the top.
I've put a watch on it to see what it goes for.
Can't buy another or it will scupper my touring plans.

ABS light may simply be on because the bike has been started but hasn't moved.

There's something along those lines about ABS in my Triumph manual.

It seems a little steep on price as others have said. Does not state what is actually wrong with it other than a few marks in the pictures. As a salvage they can have anything wrong and list it as sold as seen but sell it however much they want, or do what others I know do is double account price running up the bid.

I would have gone no higher than maybe 2k at most.

Another reason I think they're overpriced. I found one where the frame number had been removed, they photographed it but you would have thought that's something to highlight in the listing.

I'm pretty convinced they're the sole reason MCE write bikes off for so much as a scratch. I'd love to know how the transactions work; somebody is making a packet.

ABS light on modern Honda bikes stays on until about 6mph.
