So I made a post some time ago about my CRF450X not starting, got it started in the end but now having other problems.

I leave the bike to warm up on the choke until it will idle without the choke, so then when I turn the engine off the coolant is at boiling point... not sure why this is. Changed the coolant with Engine Ice but the problem is still here. I haven't noticed a loss of coolant so I don't think it's the head gasket or anything to do with the hoses (Splits/Leaks). When I filled up the coolant I filled it from the top of the radiator even know it said not to in the booklet but I couldn't find where else to fill it from Confused

What could it be making my engine run this hot? thanks!

I can't help with your problem but it may help to link the other thread here in case steps taken are relevant?

Also how long exactly are you leaving it on choke until it idles?

To fix the starting problem it was just the spark plug, new fuel and new battery. Don't think it's linked, I leave it to idle for around 10 mins.

Thanks

Leaving it to idle for 10 mins is crazy, does this bike have an electric cooling fan?

See that makes me question if it is relevant, you say new fuel, spark plug and battery fixed it, these are usually things people do after a bike has been standing a very long time.
Another thing that can happen if a bike stands a long time is Carbs gumming up from shitty fuel etc Thinking
