|
|
My sister had a rtc. She was getting checked over in the ambulance whilst her car was blocking the motorway.
The highway police called their own recovery and towed/moved the car.
It is going to be a write off. It is 2001 car.
What's the situation here; as I have heard that they will charge you for recovery and storage ?
What should be the next steps... ____________________ yzf 600r |

Don't know if it was her fault. Details are hazy. She hit the head on the steering and passed out. Airbags did not go off. Strange
Though you hit a car in the back nine out of ten times it is your fault. ____________________ yzf 600r |

Her excess is 250. She is fully comp. She'll speak to them tomorrow and find out what is going to happen.
The recovery will mostly likely try to fleece that much out of her or her insurance anyway. So I think she is 250 quids out of pocket.
Its a 2001 corsa. Do not think it has that much value Ste.
Apparently the front car braked to avoid another car suddenly. My sister was too close obviously, poor obs. She went into the third party's right rear bumper/wing of the car trying to avoid collision swerving to her right. Her left front side of the car is totally caved it. Happened at a slip road. Cars merging in merging out of a motorway.
Anyway. I am glad she's alright. She headbutted the steering wheel a few times and passed out. Face is a mess. She'll live. ____________________ yzf 600r |

2001 Corsa? There are some Non ABS models of those? Should have an airbag though?? Either way she'll be rinsed
at renewal time for the bloke in fronts car as that has to be down to her. Is she a new/young driver? ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

I think it is a non abs model. She's not a new driver but she's gonna lose her no claims for 3 years apparently as that is not protected.
Insurance has told her that they will send an engineer to pick up the car from the recovery impound.
I think her insurance is gonna become unaffordable as she checked some quotes this morning and it's tripled. ____________________ yzf 600r |

There's a car parked in front of my work as I type (a public place). It was towed there by persons unknown on Monday night.
Reported it to the police. No tax, No insurance, No MOT. Known to the police. Been involved in crimes.
It's still there now. Presumably because there is noone obvious to send the bill to, they have chosen to treat it as litter and leave the council to deal with it.
This confirms everything I've suspected about these "recovery" companies being major sponsors of the policemans ball. If it had been a stolen car or an owned but uninsured/taxed one, it would have been gone within half an hour and the bill winging its way out to the registered keeper. They would respond to any complaints of them being unreasonable by citing "public safety".
It's getting dragged out into the road tonight if it's not gone. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
