oh yes Very Happy

goose is one happy chappy for sure

CBR250RR - Red, White, And Blue

brand spanking new Bridgestone Battlax BT090 Radials (dont know why they went on, but im not complaining)

Twin Front Discs Nissin Calipers

Standard Forks, no adjustment on the front, not sure about the back

19,000 RPM rev range

11,000 KM's on the clocks

tiny scratches just below the screen and around the brake lights but otherwise mint

and the sound....cannot be expressed in words

so you will all have to wait <evil laugh> MUHAHAHAHAHAHHA </evil laugh>

possibly insured and ready to run by the weekend, if all goes to plan

i finally have a bike \o/

expect lots of technical questions on maintence from now on

but for starters, what have i got to do regularly myself, i.e Oil, Chain, Tyre Pressures

what sort of oil do i use, and how does oil work in a 4 stroke, is it burnt, how often does it need topping up etc....brands as well pls

and about chain lube, how do i apply it, how often, how carefully, and a decent brand

anything else.....

thanks and kind regards Very HappyVery Happy

I recommend Castrol GPS for your oil.

It does get burnt, but quite slowly. Check it every week, but it shouldnt need topping up that often.

Personally, I lube my chain every week. I use Holts at the mo (stuff from Halfords) but I am told that Silkolene make the best lube.

4-strokes only take gearbox oil (10w-40) so you won't need to top it up unless it's burning oil in which case you got a problem. Check it every now and then make sure it's within the level, and do an oil change roughly every 3K miles, filter change every other.

Make sure you're chain is properly adjusted, you got a lot more power going through it so you dont want to ride with a chain thats hanging off or too tight (although my ZXR coped quite well over 550miles with no adjustment left Laughing ). I use Castrol chain wax, makes it nice and smooth, I find silkolene spray lube and such leave it clunky and end up lubing my wheel rim rather than the chain.

like with any bike, let it warm up before you rev the engine high!

1990

it costs 2750

there arent many about, and you arent allowed one, kthnx Laughing

[edit] top speed wont be more than 110 - 120, and that will be pushing it, its sposed to be similar in performance to a full power NSR, but more reliable

Yay for the foetal blade. Enjoy!!

I use silkolene chain lube and apparently its best to apply it whe the chain is warm (after a ride) as it gets deeper into the chain itself that way. Avoid spraying it all over the place, I do this by using a piece of card to catch any excess spray.

/me thinks Goose has a small bike but a huge grin.

castrol gps is good if you can afford it, i use castrol magnatec - its car oil but still works fine and doesn't make the clutch slip. also very good for your engine.

silkolene chain lube is very good. dissolves rust well too.

nice one on the bike. look forwards to road races.

Actually the CBR250RR is a little faster than the NSR.. i know cause I've raced one!! Smile

If you can get it jetted.. it should give out a healthy 45 bhp.

There is A LOT more torque than the NSR so its easier and more comfortable, less noisy.. to ride!

I'd love to have one! Cool

cbr will have nsr off the line quite easy due to low down power actually existing(bout 5.5 to 60)
top end it will do a fair bit faster too
not too much difference with it and my rs except for off the line of course, on a roll on form say 10 mph i can easily stay side by side with a cbr/fzr250 up to about 90, then they will pull away
