Beta.

Jet washed

removed chain guards, scraped muck out, cleaned chain with paraffin and lubed chain

changed gear box oil

removed filter, scraped gloop out of bottom of air filter box cleaned, re-oiled and replaced air filter

on and in the middle of all of this, dropped my tools and chased my escapologist puppy down the road

Got the battery off to charge it and see if it will start tomorrow....has been sat since approx Oct 2015 so a new battery is on the way but I'm impatient and wanted to see how much work will be needed to MOT it!

Put the battery back on this morning and it started first time! I left it idling for a while and all seemed fine but when I snap the throttle back it kinda stutters and then cuts out, so will have to have a Google about that Confused

After sitting in my back garden unused for about 18 months the fact it starts and all electrics are good is a pretty decent spot to be in!

Started on the mod for making the mirrors pivot in to help me get up the entry. Going well, lots of grinding and fabricating, and lathe work. First pair of brackets will be finished bar painting and trial fitted tomorrow, then the second pair will be started. Pics as and when.

Washed and waxed (the bike!)
Went out and bought a new oil filter
Found out I'd bought the wrong oil filter
Wrote off the day I had planned covered in oil and am currently out on it instead. 👍👍

Best mistake ever.

Went well - tried it and decided I only need one to fold in. I'll eventually get hold of something like a small car gear linkage bellows to tidy it up. Pleased with the result.

(PS the paint is still on the exhaust......)

The 690 had been sitting in the garage for quite a while now, so decided to go on a short ride to charge the battery up. Surprising it started straight up. So went to see my mate and ended up leaving it there with him Laughing I was going to sell it soon, and he was after another supermoto. Winner Thumbs Up

put petrol in the 50cc

dug out the fuel can, and washed and dried the spout, and walked to Tesco and put 4litres in. Then spent the walk home wishing I'd put 5l in cos it was sloshing about.

Booked in for an work and an MOT, riding it there on Tuesday

Not if they're talking about the YBR in their sig '10 should be FI.

If I've missed the fact it's another bike ignore me and I'll blame it being a Monday and I've got no coffee/speed/crack.

No, you're right it is a FI one Smile This is why I thought I'd have to google it as I wasn't sure if anything could be blocked like a jet would do in a carb after sitting for so long :/

Sprayed the shit out of the chain with some cleaner/wd40 to try and loosen it up and it seems like the entire thing is one big rusted stiff link lol so the next job I have is to get new sprocket and chain on. Hopefully get a chance to do that this week after work with the evenings brightening up, once thats done I think I'm just going to chuck it in for an MOT and see what comes back!

My bad. Got it in to my tiny brain that it was a lot older than that.

I rode "Mayhem" my 50cc Honda for the first time, put air in the tyres first and topped it up with bog standard 2t oil, I was giggling to myself most of the way to the garage where its booked in for an MOT but they are looking at the lights first, cos they have defeated me and my friends - nuclear option is for them to strip them off and day time mot advisory

anyway, rather than be embarrassed by my 50cc, I owned the fact I as riding it and wore my open face trials helmet and had a grin on my face as I went down the bus lane past all the commuter traffic

For the first mile, my feet were flapping about looking for non existent controls.

This is quite possibly the silliest bike I have ever ridden. Laughing Thumbs Up
