What would happen if you set it at 1,000rpm?

TuneECU says 1200-1205rpm. Triumphs recommended hot idle speed.

Cold it's about 2k.

That`s 1,000 rpm like all the 20 plus bikes i`ve had in 46 years riding.
I tell a lie, i bought a pre registered KLV 1000 for a good price, this had a fast tickover and ran like sh*t and worse at 30mph 3,000rpm.
I tried different fuel but no difference, the dealer could not cure it and said that was the trait of the bike.
I contacted Hobbsport tuning specialists and he knew what was wrong with it when i explained.
He fitted a power commander and the bike was purrrrfect after that and also the idle was set at 1.000rpm
He could not believe how WEAK the mixture was.
I manage to get £115 back of the dealer towards the costs,

Erm..

https://www.triumphrat.net/attachments/ecm-and-fi-tuning-help-tips-and-tricks/43580d1322336253-tuneecu-figures-for-955i-engines-sensing-tests.jpg

So, TuneECU tells you the rpm, Triumph recommend 1200rpm for my bike.

If I can be fucked, I'll fire up the GSXR, but that will give you the same.

1k on my bike will cause the lights to flicker and it will struggle to stay alive. It won't die, but it will struggle.

Perhaps you are blind... perhaps you are just dumb, but Put it this way, I've not had a bike with 1k tick over, and I've had a few.

No not blind or dumb , all my cb400f,cb500t, gn400,dr650,klr650, slr650,xf650, 600 divi,xj900,fjr1300,xjr1300,blackbird, x11,fazer 1000, cbf1000, gsx1400 2 of. all had 1,000rpm idle / tickover and no more.
As said only one because the fueling was wrong.

all well and good but you also think paddys rev counter reads 1000 when it's clearly more than halway between 0 and 2000. so maybe you've been wrong before.

I have the feeling that no matter how many people come in here and tell you that their bikes idle at over 1k from the factory, and that is how they are supposed to be, your position won't change.

It's more the fact he believes a fucking needle Laughing

If so, I've done 200 on a blackbird and 220 in a Supra.

Is time to pop the enemy button. Evidently too old to comprehend this shit.

A quick Google, Blackbird service manual recommended 1150 +/-50

CB400F recommended. 1200 +/-100

Ah well, you won't listen, you'll never get my bike to idle happily at 1k. Simple as.

If Jaffa can get a 63k GSXR1100 to idle at 1k he can have my house.
