So should a leather bar-end tassel on your Harley lose a strip then that would count as a failure?

Leather bar-end tassels count as a failure from the moment someone starts shredding leather to make them!

Keep on iterating the design until you get it right?

Oh, sure, I'd trust a Suzuki - they've had hundreds of years (in engineering terms, it's like dog years) to work through the bugs.

Sadly for them, UK buyers demonstrably don't give a stuff about reliability: BMW consistently hammer them in sales.

I really think they suffer for not having learner or sports 125s. Honda and Yamaha hook kids into the brand earlier on.

They only have a core loyalty of riders for Gixxers and Busas and I would guess that both are a dying group. (older demographic)

They have now. They have the baby Gixxer 125 and I have to say having had a look over it, it looks good, well built and a bit of a bargain compared to its competition.

Have they announced prices yet? All I've seen is a claim that it's a kg or so lighter than a YZF. Mind you, it could hardly be more expensive.

The GSX250R appears to be an Inazuma in a frock, like the V-Strom 250 is an Inazuma on stilts. So, yeah, reliable. But 25hp.

The market for the 'R' must be tiny, I can't think why they're even bothering. I note that they've very carefully not called it a GSX-R250, so when it flops they can claim it wasn't really a Gixxer (Y U MotoGP edition tho?) and hasn't tarnished the brand.

Must have done as it was on the specification board by the bike. Can't remember what it is but I do remember it was a marked difference to that of the equivalent KTM and it looked better built and actually feels more racebike. I liked it.

Do the people who buy new look for different things in a bike to the cheapskates who buy second hand?

What's the ticket price difference between a GSX250R and an SV? How old a garage queen would I get for the same money? And why would you buy a 25bhp bike on a 46bhp licence? 40bhp is where bikes start feeling adequate.

But then why apart from not having much choice otherwise would anyone like to buy a 94bhp bike that's emasculated to 46bhp either?

I can't think or understand what your actually getting more of for your money when you buy a big bike and then have it restricted by nearly 50% to suit your licence. I can only see alot of the things your getting less of, not more.
